EVA started as a joint venture between Odeon Film AG and Kai-Roger Grüneke on September 8, 2006. Odeon Film AG, a public company, is one of Germany’s leading producers for Television content. Entertainment Value Associates GmbH is the holding company of EVA Group, while EVA Finance GmbH controls the operational business activities of the entire Group. EVA is strategically guided by Odeon’s CEO David Groenewold. Since then, the company has executed three corporate acquisitions: In December 2006, the Group acquired 74,90% of ApolloMedia Filmmanagement GmbH (now named EvaApollo Media GmbH), which is one of the biggest administrators of public media enterprises (“PME”) in Germany with a current portfolio of 14 PMEs representing a total equity of close to € 500 million. In August of 2007, the Group acquired 50,96% of atlas international Film GmbH, one of the few truly independent licensing companies for filmed entertainment worldwide, with an amazing company history of more than 40 years and a current catalogue of about 600 titles of filmed entertainment. atlas international is a recognizable brand and perceived as a stable and reliable business partner in all areas of the international media industry. In July 2008, the Group completed the acquisition of 50,00% (Option to buy 100,00%) of DUO Entertainment Vertriebs GmbH. DUO not only owns an attractive filmed entertainment library of 23 high quality film titles but due to its office in Los Angeles, also provides a strategic access to the entertainment industry in North America. These acquisitions and a staff of 26 highly motivated experts, based in the Munich headquarter as well as in offices in Berlin, Dusseldorf and Los Angeles, provides a truly sound base to further strengthen the Group’s position as one of Germany’s leading international content owner and licensor.
