Groenewold is heading Odeon Film’s board of directors. He was born in Berlin in 1973; he attended Schloss Salem public school and then studied political economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He started off in 1997 at Promedium – an association for movie financing. A couple of years later, in 2001, the son of a well-known tax lawyer, was appointed Managing Director of the media fund German Filmproductions (GFP). GFP financed and produced cinema and TV movies like „Das Wunder von Lengede” („A Light In Dark Places“), the Edgar Wallace persiflage „The TriXXer” (UK), „Hui Buh: The Goofy Ghost“ / „Hui Buh: The Castle Ghost“ (UK/USA) and „Atomised“ / „Elementary Particles“ (UK/USA). All in all GFP manages close to 20 film projects with a total volume of EUR 100 mio.
