Munich based international film production and -distribution company hosted an entertaining party with prominent film / TV guests and members of the press

At the beginning of this year’s Berlinale (February 5th to 15th, 2009), Entertainment Value Associates GmbH, Munich (EVA) hosted a party in cooperation with “Movie meets Media” and several sponsors at the restaurant Josty, Potsdamer Platz / Berlin on February 6th, 2009. Many prominent film business guests had been invited and celebrated the new cinematic production “Habermann’s Mill” with EVA and the cast of the production. Principal Photography of “Habermann’s Mill” will commence in May 2009.

Intense media interest had been generated by the large number of attending VIPs. The mood was captured by two camera crews, representatives of the press from well-known German magazines, international trade journals, daily newspapers as well as several photographers.

„The guests hugely enjoy coming to our traditional EVA-Berlinale-Party, which we arrange in an informal atmosphere. By now, the party has become a get-together of successful national and international film producers from countries like the USA, Canada and South Africa. EVA’s international orientation is mirrored in this event, which serves as a multi-national networking platform and is very much appreciated by the attending actresses and actors. Our Canadian partners, with whom we signed a contract for an USD 60 Mio. film slate including the development, production and distribution of 12 TV-Movies together with Top-Hollywood producer Mark Gordon, who will act as consultant, four days ago, came spontaneously from Canada and arrived two hours before the beginning of our party. There can’t be a greater compliment from partners“, states Kai-Roger Grüneke, CEO of EVA. “I’m very happy that we all raised our glasses in this distinguished circle to our new cinematic project “Habermann’s Mill”. It is a great party for a very special film, which will captivate audiences at the beginning of next year.”

A lot of stars attended the party. Cast celebrities Mark Waschke („Buddenbrooks“), Hannah Herzsprung („The Reader“), who had the great honor to be included in the Berlinale-Jury 2009 for the Best First Feature, Ben Becker („Ein ganz gewöhnlicher Jude“) and Franziska Weisz („Distanz“) were on parade as well as stars like Sonja Kirchberger, Wilson Gonzalez Ochsenknecht and Thure Riefenstein.

„Habermann’s Mill“, which was in the limelight of the EVA-Berlinale-Party, is set during a post-war period never focused on so far, which became known due to the excessive expulsion in the border area between Germany and Czechoslovakia. "Habermann’s Mill", a drama tied to the legacy of Sudeten Germans against the backdrop of a Czech village during World War II, is based on the true-story novel by Josef Urban.

This historical drama will be directed by award-winning director Juraj Herz. Internationally experienced producer Karel Dirka („Marlene“ and “Forget Mozart“) will be in charge of production via his Munich-based ArtOko Film GmbH & Co. Filmproduktions KG. "Habermann’s Mill" will be co-produced by Entertainment Value Associates GmbH and distributed internationally by its subsidiary atlas international Film GmbH. FilmFernsehFonds Bayern (FFF), among others, granted a subsidy.
