One of EVA's most important strategic objectives is the organic expansion of its national and international production operations. With the acquisition of 74,90 % of EvaApollo Media GmbH in December 2006, EVA has gained access to one of Germany’s most prestigious collections of production knowhow, derived from close to 100 international (co-) productions for fiction, documentary, animation and music in partnership with major studios and leading independents from all over the world.  

The production portfolio of EvaApollo includes film- and television highlights like the Academy Award winning motion picture CRASH, the Academy Award nominated WHALE RIDER and the Golden Globe winning miniseries ELVIS.  

Among the latest investment projects are WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN (Animation Series), VIVALDI – A PRINCE IN VENICE (Biopic), GOLDENPOP (Music Concert) as well as the in 2009 upcoming features HABERMANN’S MILL (Drama), BLACK KNIGHT (Action) and RAISING PHOENIX (Family Adventure).  

The combination of EVA’s access to a broad variety of financial resources and EvaApollo’s knowhow of public subsidy systems, incentives and co-production treaties for filmed entertainment around the globe, provide an outstanding business platform for German and international producers who develop commercial content for international exploitation.  

With current co-productions like STARSHIP TROOPERS 3 – MARAUDER (Sony) and SCORPION KING – RISE OF A WARRIOR (Universal), EvaApollo has also proven its success as a recognized partner for major US studios for projects structured under international co-production treaties. EvaApollo is heading for expansion in this unique niche for a German production house.

EVA can build on an impressive business network resulting from long-term market presence, experience and a catalogue of high profile co-productions. In addition, one of the Group’s key objectives is to not only maintain existing business relationships but to also establish new long-term strategic alliances with strong partners in Germany and around the world.

A prolific example for this approach is First Serve Toonz. Its principal shareholder, TOONZ Animation is one of India’s fastest growing animation studios and is producing shows with some of the world’s largest entertainment brands, including Disney, Paramount and Marvel. In 2007, EVA and TOONZ teamed up to finance, produce and distribute the 26 episode animated TV-series “WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN”, a prominent member of the world famous family of Marvel characters that includes the iconic Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, Iron Man and the Hulk. 

With 10 years of experience in developing, financing and managing close to 100 international co-productions in filmed entertainment, EvaApollo is among the few German companies operating successfully in the international entertainment business.
